Where are lathes used?

How to use/maintain your used lathe
The most important components of a lathe that we suggest you familiarise yourself with are the following:
- Spindle/chuck - This is where the workpiece to be machined is clamped.
- The carriage - This is where we move our tool holder longitudinally, transversely or diagonally - This gives us either longitudinal turning, facing or taper turning
- Tool holder - Holds the turning tool for machining the workpiece.
Always clean your lathe after each task, as chips accumulate. This can optionally be done with compressed air for easier cleaning.
